Dr Paola De Luca

Approach

 

I’m Paola, a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have experience in working with individuals, couples and families affected by bereavement and grief, cancer, and other physical health conditions. I also have experience and an interest in supporting people affected by mental health difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, stress and life adjustments across the lifespan.

I understand that if you are struggling with your psychological wellbeing it can feel difficult or daunting to reach out for support. My approach values us working together to understand what may be happening and in thinking about what is important to you. I value working collaboratively, with transparency and compassion. I believe that working together to gain a greater self-understanding and have a space to reflect on your values can be helpful in making meaningful change.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in a variety of models and approaches and typically work with an integrated approach. This means that I use skills and knowledge from across my training to best support you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Systemic Therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
